It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Higinio Cortez of Merrillville, Indiana, who passed away on November 27, 2020, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Del Refugia Cortez and Carlos Cortez. He is survived by: his wife Elena Cortez; his children, Carlos H. Cortez, Erica Cortez, Elizabeth Diaz (Adan), Victor Cortez and Francisco Cortez; and his grandchildren, Stephanie Torres, Ayanna E. Diaz, Jesus Torres Jr., Adan E. Diaz Jr., Adrian E. Diaz, Victoria Torres, Olivia Cortez, Rosalina and Violet Cortez. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.
