He is survived by: his spouse Jude Carrier Rakowski. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

“My sincere condolences to Jude and Family. Al was my Religion Professor at Quigley North (Class of 70), and his approach was like no other. I still remember that first day of Class. He was sitting in his chair, in front of his desk, almost lounging ,and looking at us for awhile smiling, and then said,"so what do you guys want to talk about?" Haha. The most laid back and effective Professor I encountered, and beloved by many of my classmates. Glad we crossed paths. Jack Lukas”
