He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie James Lyons and Louise Swanigan; his wife Mildred Davis-Bey (Thomas); and his son James C. Davis-Bey. He is survived by: his children, Carl J. II, Carla J., Jane C., Hope J. and Kalila J. Davis-Bey; and his siblings, Ra'el Swanigan and Carol Swanigan. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Islamic Center of Michigan City (1606 N 500 E, Michigan City, IN 46360). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greenwood Cemetery (153 Tilden Ave, Michigan City, IN 46360).
