With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gretna Frances Daugherty of Mitchell, Indiana, who passed away on April 23, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Johnson and Ruth Johnson (Beasley); her former husband William Wilson; and her siblings, Carolyn Mullins and Kenneth Johnson.
She is survived by: her husband David Daugherty of Mitchell; her children, Kevin Daugherty (Rita) of Bedford, Jeff Daugherty (Sonya) of Mt. Sterling and Denise LaGrange (Mike) of Fishers; her grandchildren, Kaytlin Daugherty, Sara Martin, Kyrsten Daugherty, Carissa Cox (Eli), Abby Foist (Andy), Eric Grow (Courtney) and Alex Grow; and her siblings, Betty Kinder, Agatha Tandy (Richard) and Carl Johnson (Carol).
Visitation was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chastain Funeral Home (705 W Warren St, Mitchell, IN 47446). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center (705 W Warren St, Mitchell, IN 47446). A burial was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at the Lawrenceport Cemetery (1004 Lawrenceport Main, Mitchell, IN 47446).
