He is survived by: his wife Carol Blount of Monon, Indiana; his children, John Blount, Jr. of Monon, Indiana and Melissa Peterson (Tim) of Monon, Indiana; his son-in-law Barry Young of Monon, Indiana; his grandchildren, Jason Blount, Stacey Ricks, Octavia Young, Tim Peterson, Jr., Heather Kidney, Nastassia Langreder and Makena Peterson; and his sister Virginia Cauble (Howard) of Monticello, Indiana.. He is also survived by Several Great Grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Happy Tails Animal Shelter of Buffalo, Indiana.
