It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry Lee Smelser (Montpelier, Indiana), who passed away on December 21, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Smelser (Watson) and John Wesley Smelser; his stepmother Ruth Smelser; his brothers, James Smelser, Michael and David Smelser; and his siblings-in-law, Mark Moorman, Billy, Michael Costello and Kathy Donaldson.
He is survived by: his wife Melody; his children, Andy Smelser (Amy) of La Fontaine, Jeff Glassburn of Jonesboro and Beth Buhler (Terry) of Georgetown, KY; his grandchildren, John Wesley Smelser II, Zach Buhler (Bailey), Allie, Kameron, Kendall Buhler, Marvin Glassburn, Sydney Pinkerton (James), Bryce, Bryan and Brady Crossman; his great grandchild Raelynn Pinkerton; his brother Bruce Smelser (Doug Strahm); and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Smelser-Sills (Jerry Sills), Ruth Ann Moorman, Sue Lessard (Alain) and George Moorman (Amy).
There will be private family viewing followed by a grave site service on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 2:30 PM with Rev. George Cecil officiating at the Mt. Etna Cemetery in Mt. Etna, Indiana. Those wishing to attend are asked to wear a mask and follow social distancing.
