She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Francis and Susan Kennedy (Chappell); her former husband Richard Nohr; and her daughter Kathryn Sumner. She is survived by: her husband John Slater; her children, Lisa K. Dorsey (Sven), Gretchen M. McFarland, Richard E. Nohr (Laurette) and Barbara S. Corwin (Steady); her grandchildren, Sara M. Knight (Chris), Amanda L. Schapker (Will), Melissa M. Green (Evan), Lauren K. Peters (Joe), Britta D. Dorsey, Shannon M. Steady Kauffman, Alan M. Steady (Kristin) and Richard M. Nohr (Megan); and her great grandchildren, Nathan, Kaelyn, Jackson, Hudson, Kathryn, Elizabeth, Royce, Howard and Murphy. She is also survived by many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Washington Park East (10722 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to be made in Dorothy's name to the Brown County Humane Society.
