He was predeceased by: his parents, Logan Stout and Mary Stout (Davis); his wife Leita F. Pumphery; his daughter Charity Ellen Stout; and his siblings, Kathleen Stout Starky, Arthur, Robert and Norma Stout.
He is survived by: his children, Terri Sisson (David) of Brown County, James Stout (Shirley) of Bargersville, Janet Stout of Fruitdale, Steven Stout (Kim) of Morgantown, David Stout (LeRae) of Bloomfield and Quentin Stout (Debra) of Florida; and his brothers, John Stout (Beverly) of Indianapolis and Alfred Stout (Susan) of Indianapolis. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
