She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert New and Frances New (Richey); and her husband Michael Zapf. She is survived by: her daughters, Trudy Sturgeon of Greenwood and Angela Cherry of Greenwood; her grandchildren, Isaac Sturgeon, Callie Payne (Marcus), Mitchell Cherry, Madalyn Cherry, Megan Cherry and Michael Cherry; her great grandchildren, Greyson and Hazel; and her sister Yvonne Hatfield of North Vernon.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Margaret to the Jeremiah and Tabbatha Zapf Memorial 4-H Scholarship Fund: C/O Hancock Co. Community Foundation: 971 W. US Hwy 40 Greenfield, IN 46140.
