With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Silinda F. Hollingsworth of Muncie, Indiana, who passed away on April 20, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Silinda departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Silinda may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear and the legacy Silinda leaves behind.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Cornelius Burris and Angie Myrtle Burris (Carrol); her husband Richard J. Hollingsworth; her daughter Tonya Rector; and her grandson Rodney "Boomer" Hammond Jr..

She is survived by : her children, Rick Hammond (Melanie), Tammy Dye (Joe), Rodney Hammond and Treva Conley (Melfred); and her brothers, Ronnie Burris (Paula) and Donnie Burris (Alice). She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Elm Ridge Funeral Home (4600 W Kilgore Ave, Muncie, IN 47304). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
