He was predeceased by: his wife Demetra "Toula"; his parents, John Karagiannis and Maria Karagiannis; and his sisters, Eleni Dalamagas and Katina Tsintis.

He is survived by: his children, John G. Karagiannis and Maria Katsiris (Konstantinos); and his grandchildren, Andreas and Kalliopi Katsiris. He is also survived by brothers and two older sisters.
