He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Szabo; his sisters, Margaret Barber and Rose Stapleton; and his parents, Joseph Szabo and Theresia Szabo.
He is survived by: his children, Jo Carol Clark (late Thomas), Susan Stables (Richard), Peggy Szabo, Joseph C. Szabo and Clark Szabo (Diana); and his grandchildren, Carly Szabo, Megan Stables, Tori Szabo and Natalie Szabo. He is also survived by uncle, he was very close with his nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area or the Chicago Lighthouse.
