He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudy J. Hochstetler and Anna Hochstetler (Borkholder); his wife Mary E. Chupp; his son Steven Joe Hochstetler; and his siblings, William Hochstetler and Sylvia Hostetler.
He is survived by: his children, Ray Hochstetler (Leona Miller), Michael Hochstetler (Linda Mast), Lorraine Stutzman (Mark), Sharon Borkholder (Allen), Linda Miller (Frederick), Diana Borkholder (Eddie Ray), Vonda Yoder (Daryl), Regina Chupp (Larry) and Amy Yoder (Virgil); his daughter-in-law Etta Hochstetler (Schwartz); his siblings, LeRoy Hochstetler of Milford, IN, Larry Hochstetler (Freda) of New Paris, IN, Freida Schmucker (Robert) of Milford and Verba Bontrager (Joe) of Nappanee; and his sister-in-law Elsie Hochstetler (Lapp) of New Paris. He is also survived by 54 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Family Residence (955 Baltimore Ave, Nappanee, IN 46550). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location.
