With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gayla L. Austin Akers of New Albany, Indiana, who passed away on July 5, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles K. Austin and Katherine I. Austin Beyl; and her siblings, Martha A. Adam, C. Phillip and Michael L. Austin.
She is survived by: her children, Jim L. Akers (Carmel) and Karen McKinley Boyd; her grandchildren, Niki L. Akers (Diana), Alexandria T. McKinley (Ryan McCulloch) and Demi C. McKinley; and her great grandchildren, Ayrton, Sabrina Akers and Waylon James Cooper.
