With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Scubbins (New Albany, Indiana), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 13, 2025 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Adolph Milton Stubbins and Lora Mae Stubbins; and her siblings, Addison Duncan, Audrey Thomas, Edward Stubbins, Milton Stubbins, Robert Stubbins, Charles Stubbins, Norman Stubbins, Walter Stubbins, Thornton Stubbins and Delmar Stubbins.
She is survived by: her siblings, Eva Hearn, Estella Stubbins, Cleada Lively, Dorothy Gibson, Julius Stubbins (Chlonda), Gary Stubbins and Ardella Thomas; and her siblings' children, Myrna Hamilton and Andre Stubbins. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Howard Chapel Missionary Baptist Church (1715 E Market St, New Albany, IN 47150). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at the West Haven Cemetery (1145 West St, New Albany, IN 47150).
Mary had a rich life full of experiences and contributions to her community.
