He was predeceased by: his parents, Opal Carmine Elam and Norman Elam, Sr; and his grandparents, Shelby Smith Elam, Brenda Davis Elam, Layfayette Carmine and Minnie Asher Carmine.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Elam; and his children, Debra Ann Keffer (Clay), Brenda Lynn Elam-Huff (Jeffrey Hillard), Brenda Marie Elam and Norman Elam III (Nikki). He is also survived by four grandsons, seven granddaughters, two great grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
The family has designated the Wounded Warrior Project for memorial contributions.
