Raymond Steve Helms Sr. Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Raymond Steve Helms Sr. (New Albany, Indiana), born in Donalsonville, Georgia, who passed away on June 23, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Helms and Olene Earnst Helms; his siblings, Marguerite Clance and Keith; his sister-in-law Linda Helms; and his granddaughter Emily Helms.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Rauck Helms; his children, Rick Helms (Sheryl), Charlie Helms (Rhonda), Kenneth Helms, Steve Helms (Jaime) and Jennifer Mumaw (Pierce); his grandchildren, Damien, Jimmy, Kylie, Bradley, Jacob, Hayden, Caleb, Hope, Levi and Noah; and his brother Troy Helms (Marie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150). A burial will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Paul II Catholic Church (2253 W St Joe Rd, Sellersburg, IN 47172).
Ray will be remembered not only for his contributions to the trucking industry but, more importantly, for the love he shared with his family and friends.
