It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Phillip Ray Rockwell of New Whiteland, Indiana, who passed away on May 8, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Raymond and Lena May Rockwell; his brother Denis Rockwell; and his grandson Daniel Rockwell. He is survived by: his wife Shelby Rockwell of New Whiteland; his son Larry Rockwell (Sarah) of Greenwood; his grandchildren, Austin Rockwell (Abby) of Morgantown, Brent Rockwell (Amber) of New Whiteland, Nathan Rockwell (Mallory) of Trafalgar, Nicholas Rockwell (Camryn LaMonaca) of New Whiteland, Monica Rockwell of Greenwood, Derek Rockwell of Greenwood and Zachary Payton of LaGrange; his great grandchildren, Nicholas Bailey, Caroline Rockwell and Eleanor Rockwell; and his brother David Rockwell of Michigan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, May 16th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation Whiteland Chapel (729 US-31, Whiteland, IN 46184). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 16th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Greenwood Fire Department Retiree's Scholarship Fund.
