He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Bette" Carlin; his daughter Susan Gilbert (Gary); his grandchildren, David Gilbert (Karen), Theresa Heerdt (Howard), Erick Gilbert and John Runland; and his sisters, Mary Ogles and Anne Russo (Tony). He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
