He was predeceased by: his parents, James Elmer and Frieda K. Allen Sr. (Betz); his former wife Barbara Allen (Carter); and his siblings, Martha Grimm, James E. Allen Jr. and Louis Allen.

He is survived by: his daughter Cindy Sue Simpson (Steve); and his grandchildren, Jeremiah Strange of Mt. Juilet, TN and Christian McGarrah of Lawrenceville, GA..

Memorial contributions can be made to the Newburgh Fire Dept. and/or the American Legion Kapperman Post 44, Honor Guard.
