He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Caplinger and Anna Atterbury Caplinger; and his brother Harold Caplinger. He is survived by: his wife Constance Mandarino Caplinger; his daughters, Denise Caplinger Paciorek (Jeff) of Lowell, IN and Christina Caplinger Ryan (Ron) of Newburgh, IN; his grandchildren, Kenneth Paciorek, Daniel Paciorek (Una), Jessica Ryan Delgado (Casey), Jennifer Ryan and Matthew Ryan; his great grandchild Tyler Paciorek; his sister Norma Jean Caplinger Nelson; and his nieces and nephews, Susie, Lynne, Deanna, Ginger, Michael, Tommy, Todd, Scott, Edward and Fred.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville, 700 Bellemeade Avenue, Evansville, IN 47713.
