She was predeceased by: her son Gregory David Townsend; her former husbands, Ralph R. Townsend and Idus O. Bush; her husband Sam E. Barner; and her brother James Albert Jandebeur.

She is survived by: her daughter Elizabeth D. Haas (Gregory). She is also survived by eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
