He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arnold Barfield Sr. and Maude Alice Barfield; and his close friends, William Arnold Barfield Jr. and Larry Wade Barfield. He is survived by: his significant other Brenda O'Bannon Barfield; his daughters, Terri Craig (Jim) and Jamie Goodman (Adam); and his sister Beverly Farr (Tom). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deaconess Hospice.
