He was predeceased by: his father Louis A. Hemmer. He is survived by: his mother Patricia Hemmer (LeRoy); his son William C. Hemmer of Poseyville; his siblings, Becky Joest (Michael) of Newburgh and Jon Hemmer (Joanna) of Stendal; and his niece Sarah Joest of Evansville.
