As we bid adieu to Ernest's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Ernest has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernie Sr. Banks and Gracie Banks (Mullins); and his siblings, Garson Banks, Harold Banks and Ethel Banks.
He is survived by: his daughters, Shayla Shepherd (Alonzo) of Sellersburg and Lesley Banks (Eric Craft) of Knox; and his close friend Sherli Simousek of North Judson. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Braman and Bailey Funeral Home (6020 S Oakwood Ave, North Judson, IN 46366). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Highland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ernie's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
