He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Howell and George Dering; his sister Shirley Seifert; his brother-in-law Howard Seifert; and his niece Lisa Seifert.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Dering (Violette); his children, Sherrie Wilson (Sandy), Kelli Porter, Kurt Dering (Elizabeth), Eric Campbell (Rebecca) and Michael Campbell; his grandchildren, Nicole Weinmann (Eli), Cassandra Wilson (Alex), Mitchell Wilson, Bridgette Dering (Pryce), Mallory Dering, Kayla Campbell, Crystal Porter, Cheyanne Porter, Mehgen Campbell, Mason Campbell, Mattie Campbell and Emerson Campbell; his sibling's children, Diane Eby (Marty) and Erich Seifert (Pam); and his pet Joe. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
Face masks are required to enter the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Joseph County Humane Society.
