He is survived by: his children, Craig J. Pontius of Trinity, AL, Douglas R. Pontius of Elkhart, Robin J. Wirick of Osceola and Michelle R. Pontius of Union; his grandchildren, Angela Pitts, Justin Pontius, Trevor Wirick, Nolan Malcom and Evan Gibson; his great grandchildren, Selma, Mary, Tyler, Taya and Marleigh; and his sister Linda Mellinger (Rex) of Elkhart.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Cleveland Clinic Cardiac Unit.
