He was predeceased by : his parents, Waldo Wetzel and Dorothy Wetzel (Gurtz); and his brothers, Junie, Larry, Wayne and Donnie Wetzel.

He is survived by : his wife Brenda L. Wetzel (Stonecipher); and his sons, Eddie Wetzel, Jimmy Wetzel (Jeanna), Ricky Wetzel and Chris Wetzel (Michelle). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, as well as a step-daughter and step-son.
