He is survived by: his wife Carrol Messer; his son Michael Messer (Jamie); his stepchildren, Jamie J. Burchfield and Elizabeth Broaddus; his siblings, Larry Messer (Sueann) and Inez Bailey; his grandchildren, Jeremy (Misty), Mandi (Richard), Mykel, Ainsley, Alexia, Frankie and Janelle; and his great grandchildren, Madison, Luke, Kaleb, Adrianna and Mason. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
