He was predeceased by: his siblings, Marie Lear, Betty Williams and Bonnie Lou Lear. He is survived by: his wife Judith Ann; his children, Tammy Sasher (Mike) of Richmond, Linda Newman of Richmond, James Dallas Lear Jr (Verna Jean) and Roudy Lear of Richmond; and his siblings, Peggy Swearingen, Donny Lear, Jesse Lear, Anna Mae Hatfield, Douglass Lear and Pete Lear. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren.
