He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Helton and Pauline "Poppi" Helton (Flannery); and his siblings, Edgar, Grady, Morris, Everett Helton, Dorothy Bishop, Ruth Johnson and Ada Helton.
He is survived by: his wife Sheri Helton; his children, Stacy Helton (Angie), Matthew Helton (Natasha), Caleb Chalk (Natasha), Noah Chalk and Brandy Rash (Tyler); and his siblings, Troy Helton, Sue Smith, Alice Faye Reichert (Lynn) and Ethel Woodling.
