Martha Swaim Ransom Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Martha Swaim Ransom of Rockville, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 24, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Peterson and Marian Brodie Peterson; her former husband Ray Swaim; her husband Marion Ransom; her siblings, Marilyn Parker, Georgie, David and Jim Peterson; her sons-in-law, Paul Freed and Rick Nixon; her grandchildren, Steve Swaim and Stephanie Stover; and her in-laws, Ralph, Sr., Callie Swaim, Rex and Mabel Ransom.
She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Steffy (Mike) of Veedersburg, Steve Swaim (Carol) of Veedersburg, Connie Nixon of Rockville and Chris Freed (Curtis South) of Cayuga. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Gooch Funeral Home (112 W Howard St, Rockville, IN 47872). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
