It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carol Jeanne (Shafer) Bedwell of Salem, Indiana, born in Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on February 5, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Reverend Floyd Doud Shafer and Carol Jeanne Parsons Shafer; and her stepdaughter Deanna Bedwell. She is survived by : her husband Max Bedwell of Salem; her sons, Dr. James Apple (Shinobu) of Calgary and Daniel Apple of Scottsburg; her stepson Stephen Bedwell (Rita) of Rockville; and her siblings, Floyd Shafer of Robinson and Rebecca McLaughlin of Tucson. She is also survived by 4 step-grandchildren, and 17 step-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Washington County Community Foundation.
