He was predeceased by : his parents, John Gallas and Anna Pestikas; and his grandsons, Roger Porter II, Steven Gallas and John Gallas IV.

He is survived by : his wife Patricia; his children, Pattijo Porter (Roger), Karen Frevert (Jim), John III Gallas (Christine), Pegi Davis (Tim Mannion), Barbara Deavers (Daniel Riffe), Thomas Gallas (Karyn), Gregory Gallas (Doreen), Brian Gallas (Shannon) and Mari Plikuhn (Eric); and his brothers, Steven Pestikas (Gloria) and Frank Bauman (Susan). He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 17 great-granchildren, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
