She was predeceased by: her husband David Vernon; and her son Steven Vernon. She is survived by: her children, Robert Vernon (Karen) of Cleves and Amber Howard of Milltown, Indiana; her siblings, Twila Nichell, Roderick Elswick (Karen) and James Elswick (Angela); her grandchildren, Dominic Vernon, Mackenzi Vernon, Jasper Vernon, Emily Vernon, Steven Vernon, Joshua Howard, Carlee Howard, Jayce Howard, Isaiah Howard and Sebastian Howard; and her close friend Max.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Collins Funeral Home (465 W McClain Ave, Scottsburg, IN 47170). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
