She was predeceased by: her parents, Delbert Kerr and Lucy Kerr (Bailey); her husband John Milton Thomas; and her brother James D. Kerr. She is survived by: her children, Marsha Oakley (William) of Baltimore, Melinda Hatchett of Avon, Melanie Thomas of Shelbyville, Michelle Karmire (Jason) of Boggstown and J. Mark Thomas (Karen) of Seymour. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
