He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin O. Scott Jr. and Reba L. Scott (Johnson); his former wife Shirelene Alder; his children, Robert Scott and Tammi Wykel; his sister Martha McAfee; his stepdaughter Nancy Gibson; and his stepson-in-law Ed Gibson.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Mills; his son Randall Scott (Joan); his siblings, Virginia Sands (Art) and Melvin O. Scott III (Carolyn); his stepchildren, Scott Mills (Karen), Eric Mills and Suzanne Crump (Mike); and his grandchildren, Stacy Crockett (Brian), J. D. Scott (Ashley), Amy Scott and Sara Scott. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
