She was predeceased by: her parents, Edmond Mainer and Estella Williams Mainer; her husband Wilford Smith; her sons, Carl Mainer and Richard Smith (Davene); and her siblings, Ulysees Mainer, Oliver Mainer, Anita Mainer and Carlie Evelyn Mainer Smith.

She is survived by: her children, Elaine Smith and Alphonso Smith; her sibling's children, Jimmy Smith, Jerome Smith, Ulysees Smith, Martha Smith, Betty Smith, Cindy Gibson, Stanley Smith and Evon Smith; her grandchildren, Carl E. Mainer Jr., Anthony Mainer, Carla Smith, Raheem Smith, DeShawn Smith, Elisha Smith and Natasha Smith; and her son Gary Heard. She is also survived by 26 great -grandchildren and 5 great -great grandchildren.
