She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Jankowski and Valentine Jankowski (Pytlewicz); her husband John J. Istenes; and her brother Robert Jankowski. She is survived by: her children, Suzanne Kopke (Ron) of Middlebury, Indiana and Thomas Istenes (Linda) of Elkhart, Indiana; her grandchildren, William Knebel (Dawna) and Katie Knebel; and her great grandchildren, Nicholas and Ethan Knebel. She is also survived by several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
