It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gordon Byer Jr. (South Bend, Indiana), who passed away on April 19, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon and Dorothy Byer, Sr. (Kasier); and his wife Angela Mary DeLee (Badowski). He is survived by: his former wives, Linda Cockey (Al) of Kilgore, TX, Nancy L. Whiteman (Don) of South Bend and Pamela VonderHaar (Kenneth) of St. Louis, MO; his stepchildren, Carolyn Young of Mishawaka and Jack DeLee (Kathy Ann) of Cassopolis, MI; his grandchildren, Scott Geans (Andrea), Lisa Schrope (Alan), Daniel Geans (Kristine), Ginny Shackow (David), Don R. Whiteman, Aaron VonderHaar and Grant VonderHaar; and his siblings, Delores Minix of Rochester, IN, Joyce Ann Shook (Robert) of Nashville, IN and Richard "Mack" Byer (Joanne) of Knox. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Due to the Coronavirus restrictions, a memorial service will be scheduled at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend once the restrictions are lifted.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Gordon D. Byer, Jr. may be donated to the Orak Shrine, 3848 N. Frontage Road, Michigan City, IN 46360.
