It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Herbert Sanders Sr. of South Bend, Indiana, who passed away on July 16, 2021, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Estella (Weatherspoon) and Huston Sanders, Sr.; his siblings, Huston Sanders, Jr., Dwight Sanders, Leonard Scruggs, Geraldine Flowers, Betty Jo Scruggs (Wajihah), Sabir and Maxine Dorn; and his niece Tamara Flowers.
He is survived by: his spouse Lurene Johnson; his children, LeTonja Sanders (Jerome Scott) of South Bend, Aminata Sanders of Memphis, TN., Herbert Sanders, Jr. of Memphis, TN. and Houston Sanders of Niles, MI.; his grandchildren, LaDarius Gorden, Jada Gorden, Colina Sanders, Letonia Sanders and Brandon Birgs; his great grandchildren, Asher Gorden, Noah Gardner and Ryleigh Sanders; his sister Vera Jean Sanders; his friend Marilyn Jenkins; Twila, Ambrose, Simone and Uriah.
