Hugh L. Metzger Obituary

We are sad to announce that on August 10, 2022, at the age of 92, Hugh L. Metzger (South Bend, Indiana), born in Rochester, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon H. Metzger and Beatrice I. Metzger; his sister Barbara Berg; his daughters-in-law, Yvette Hart-Metzger and Peggy Metzger; and his wife Birgit B. Metzger.

He is survived by: his brother Robert Metzger (Marsha); his children, Jeffrey Metzger (Annette) of East Hampton, NY, Gary Metzger and Karen Metzger Leuther (Michael) of Fishers, IN; his grandchildren, Brittany Metzger Nierste (Vincent), Joel Metzger, Stephen Kabaker, Jessica Leuther, Sarah Leuther and David Leuther; his great grandchildren, Amelia and Augustus Nierste; his stepchildren, Karen Zubkoff Perna of Chandler, AZ, Ian Zubkoff (Oh) of Scottsdale, AZ and Brian Zubkoff of South Bend; his stepgrandchildren, Julie Perna Beauregard (Michael), Aaron Perna, Kelsey Zubkoff and Adam Zubkoff; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Cooper and Brooklyn Beauregard; and his daughter Rita Metzger.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sinai Synagogue or the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley.
