He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James J. Murphy, Sr. and Nora Murphy (Harrington); his wife Nancy L. Binder; his children, Lisa Walsh of Arizona, Denise Sanders (Mike) of South Bend, Bethany Swanson (Michael) of Mishawaka, Indiana and Joseph Binder (Judy) of Granger, Indiana; his grandchildren, Dawn Babcock, Erik Walsh, Jentry Binder, Stevie Binder, Nicole Watson, Brooke Fraling, Ryan Fraling and Lauren Sanders; his siblings, Mary Legault of Peabody, Massachusetts and Dan Murphy (Anne Marie) of Peabody, Massachusetts; his siblings' children, Christine, Stephanie, Maryann and Matthew; and his great-nieces, Emily and Maddison. He was also cherished by eight great-grandchildren.
