He was predeceased by: his mother Alta Zielinski (Odiorne); his siblings, Eugene (Lois), Rosemarie Mesaros (George), Patricia Grauel (Robert) and Betty Lou; his siblings-in-law, Armand, Bernardine O'Brien and Rene VanOverberghe; and his stepgrandson Mathew Francis.
He is survived by: his father Joseph Zielinski; his children, Richard (Anne-Marie) of Cicero, IN, Douglas (Margaret) of Brookline, NH, David (Hayley) of Martinez, GA and Susan Gulka (Thomas) of Lake Oswego, OR.; his sister-in-law Veronica VanOverberghe of Naperville, IL.; his grandchildren, Chelsea, Madison, Justin, Ben, Rachel, Olivia, Ellie, Jessica and Kinleigh; and his wife Mary Margaret "Marge" Gondek.
