He was predeceased by: his father Frank Garlathy. He is survived by: his daughters, Sahrin Theta of Whitehall, Summer Labecki of Sechelt and British Columbia; his stepdaughter Sophie Labecki of Bellingham, Washington; his son Sydian Garlathy (Iryna) of Warsaw, Poland; his grandson Vova Bender; his sister Elizabeth Scott (Henry); his sibling's children, McCartney, Wilder and Alexander; his uncle Glen; and his aunt Rebecca Campbell.

“I love this guy! This photo of him is terrific! He looks so happy, which he always was when playing music. Glenn and I have always thought it was a privilege to play music with him. There were some real special moments when it would sound so good and we were so together. God's blessing and gift for sure! I think of him often as I prepare for worship, because we spent so much time at the church together. I look forward to greeting him anew in his pain free spiritual body in God's glorious choir!”
