It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Scherkenbach O'Brien of South Bend, Indiana, who passed away on June 4, 2021, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Elmer Scherkenbach and Marjorie Scherkenbach; her husband John O'Brien of South Bend, IN; her siblings, Cheryl McGrath (Rob), Lee Scherkenbach (Judy), Jed Scherkenbach (Mary), Kurt Scherkenbach (Audrey), Craig Scherkenbach and Jeff Scherkenbach (Kim); her children, Sean O'Brien (Felicia), Meghan Hendrickson (Bret) and Bridget Hoyt (Andrew); and her grandchildren, Sophie O'Brien, Eleanor Hendrickson, Lucy O'Brien, Nat Hendrickson, Seamus O'Brien, Colm Hoyt and Eoin Hoyt.
