He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernie Heckaman and Iva Heckaman; and his brother Norman Heckaman. He is survived by: his wife Barbara A. Legner; his brother Merl Heckaman (Joann); his children, Kim Carpenter (Dan), Kent and Kris Heckaman (Laura); his grandchildren, Carin Wigfall (C. J.), Devin Carpenter (Jennie), Hailey Schell (Jesse) and Shelby Childs (Michael); and his great grandchildren, Adason, Madelyn and Mason Goffinet. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
