He was predeceased by: his parents, James Leon and Lois Gulbranson (Cunningham); his grandson Michael, Jr.; and his sisters, Tammie Mize and Toni Kay Underwood.

He is survived by: his children, Michael Rogers (Chandra) of South Bend, Justin Gulbranson (Lauren) of Watervliet and Mandy Osborn (Chris) of Bristol, Indiana; his grandchildren, Caitlin, Max, Brett, Ryan, Nathan, Mason, Payton and Aaron; his siblings, Tina Joy (William) of Granger, Trudy Gulbranson of South Bend, Tara Huffman of Mishawaka and Eric Gulbranson of South Bend; his stepsisters, Pamela and Sherry; his close friend Brian Stephens; Terrie Gulbranson of Mishawaka.
