He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Richard E. and Ann L. Bauer, Sr. (Carpenter); his mother-in-law Karen Bauer (Connett); his children, Amy Shanholt of Jimtown, Richard E. Bauer III of South Bend, Steven Bauer of South Bend and Timothy Bauer (Julie) of South Bend; his grandchildren, Katie Huffman (Darren), Cory Bauer (Michelle), Paige Laskowski (Frankie), Ben Bauer, Taylor Montague, Zachary Hover and Jordyn Shanholt (Bryce Parrish); and his brother Thomson Barry Bauer.
