She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Smith and Ida Smith (Benner); and her siblings, Glen Vergon, Dallas Vergon, Charles Vergon, Danny Smith, Derelys Winterrowd and Mavis Myers.

She is survived by : her husband John "Jack" Murphy of South Whitley; and her sisters-in-law, Dixie Barringer of Warsaw and Callie Conrad of Columbia City. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
